If you did not succeed in attending the home-made craft market, last Saturday 3rd Juli, don’t be disappointed. Every Saturday, during this summer and fall the Home Made craft market will be held on the Van der Pekplein in Amsterdam. In my previous blog you can find the contact details to enlist and register there.
As some of you already know, a new market will take place in the East side of Amsterdam on September 25th 2010, from 10:00 AM 17:00 PM. Some of you may have already visited the market in June of this year. But for those who are still unfamiliar with it, the market is called ‘CraftyMarkt’. This event takes place at the Oosterpark, and you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for this sales event. The theme is ‘Love at the Craftymarkt’. Designers, artists, and other cool creatives will show and sell their own handmade products, designs and objects. The thing that makes this market so special is that it offers a widely spread focus on participants from all over the world.
Here’s a little background information: In November of 2003 the CraftyMarkt was initiated by the organization SOOOHAPPY.COM, together with the fabrics ateliers of the Audax Museum in Tilburg. This yearly reoccurring event has become such a great success, that the idea of a craft market has been adopted by many other creative talents, both amateurs and pro’s. The original idea behind this CraftyMarkt is to offer a stage, a network and a creative platform to ‘cool creatives’ and handcrafts(wo)men. It’s not just about the sales, although they are quite important, of course, but also about making contacts, setting new collaborations and promoting our creative talents.
The buzz about this market is that it gives the visitors a huge boost of positive energy and inspiration. Because of that, a lot of visitors often register spontaneously as sellers in the following CraftyMarkt. Maybe you could too! For shoppers this market can be very, very persuasive. It’s practically impossible to leave this event without buying anything at all!
